Just wanted to keep myself occupied this winter and want to learn to do some rust repair.
How do I go about repairing this patch? It’s on the bottom of the doors and on the rear arch
Sorry I know the photos aren’t the best but the door is still solid it’s not rotted it’s more on the surface.

Get a new door. They are cheap on ebay allready in your colour. The one for our vw was 100€.
Use some painters tape (or similar) and mark off about 2″ away from what you see bubbling or rusting. That’s your work area.
Grind and sand down to bare metal. Visually inspect and make sure there’s no rust! May need some chemicals to help or just cut out and weld something together for proper fix.
Bondo/smooth out work surface and prep for paint.
Base coat, sand around 600-1000.
Actual coat, and more sanding around 1500-2000
Clear coat, and sand again going from 2000 to 4000 with wet sanding.
