This is why I love my Rivian

The ability to still go anywhere. Sure this was just a forest service road off highway 101; but I would never had gotten out here in my old Leaf or risked taking my MachE up an unknown gravel side road. This was also silent – no engine rumble or exhaust note, just tires on dirt and gravel. And unlike my old ‘86 Bronco no need to run the heat to help keep the engine cooler when idling up a trail 😅

  1. Mach-E and Leaf probably could’ve made it just fine FWIW

  2. I wouldn’t take my Lamborghini up there but I would take my McLaren or my Supra up there. My Miata would probably do fine but I wouldnt take my 64 Suburban. My Spaceship would probably overheat but my Grand Am wouldn’t. My Bentley is in the shop or else I’d take it up there. My Roadster on the other hand? Sheeeesh!

The R1S looks absolutely spectacular in that color, man!

LOL, turning the heat to max in the hottest summer days on a steep hill climb, that’s a memory I’ve not had in a long, long time.

  5. Man at least take a pic of a trail that a bone stock Camry couldn’t make it up.

I wish I could afford on. The Rivians are just so…gosh darn expensive 🙁 nice color though!

  7. This is why people buy SUVs but it’s misguided as any car could climb this.

Wish I could afford an R1S Dual Max with that 410 mile range. Life goals, I suppose, but trying to buy a house and looking for new cars at the same time kinda sucks

  9. It’s got to be absolutely magical.
Not disturbing the wildlife, other campers / hikers / hunters, and super serene for yourself.

My old 2006 volvo v50 2.5L AWD can do the same …. it only cost me $2200 AUD to buy 🙂
