Traverse Education: Autosense Power Liftgate
Your Chevy Traverse offers a programmable AutoSense Power Liftgate. With this feature, there is no emblem projection underneath the liftgate, so there is no need to swipe your foot to open the cargo area. Simply walk up to the rear of your Traverse with your key fob in your hand, pocket or purse, and stand within 3 feet for about 3 to 4 seconds. The vehicle will detect the key fob and start to beep. After the fourth beep, the liftgate will automatically open. When your hands are full, this feature is very handy. Closing the liftgate is done with a simple press of the liftgate button or a click of the key fob.
To enable or disable this feature, you’ll need to go into the Settings app. From there tap Vehicle, then Comfort and Convenience. Inside that menu you’ll find an option named Hands-Free Exterior Storage Access. Tap on that menu, and you can toggle from Off to On, to enable the Power Rear Gate Opening. If you want to turn the feature back off, you can return to the same menu.
You can also set the height to deploy at different heights. To program this, ensure AutoSense Power Liftgate is on in the infotainment settings. Open the liftgate and adjust it manually to the desired position. To save the setting, press and hold the button next to the lift gate pull handle until the turn signals flash and a beep sounds.
