Traverse Education: Electronic Precision Shifter
Your 2024 Traverse features an Electronic Precision Shift to select your gear and shift into it. The automatic transmission is electronically controlled using the shift lever on the right side of the steering column.
The selected gear is illuminated in red on the lever and also shown in the instrument cluster display. To shift the vehicle into Drive, press the brake pedal then pull the lever toward you and then down into Drive. For Reverse, press the brake pedal and pull the lever toward you and then up into Reverse.
To shift the vehicle into Neutral, press the brake pedal and pull the lever toward you, holding briefly until the transmission shifts to Neutral. However, please note the vehicle will only stay in Neutral for a brief moment before automatically shifting back into Drive. To shift the vehicle into Park, press the P button on the end of the lever.
