Oh shit. Chademo is dead in Japan. It makes sense because Tesla offers faster charging, most of the Chademo chargers there are only 50-100kW.
I thought Chajoi was supposed to be the new standard there?

What do Teslas use there?
Edit: after reading the article, it’s NACS.

Japan moving to NACS would be interesting, but it could just be that they mainly plan to sell this in North America, and don’t want to have to design for two charge ports.

> Tesla Superchargers represent the largest global network, with 60,000 Superchargers and growing. In Japan, 90% of 150kW+ chargers are Superchargers. True to Tesla’s mission, we also want to be helpful to companies going electric, and improve charging experiences for all EV drivers. That’s why we’re excited to see the North American Charging Standard (NACS) gaining traction in Japan, and we welcome Sony Honda Mobility as the first automaker to join the movement.

I just think NACS lack of 3-phase support might come back to bite countries that adopt it.
