I worked at the claycomo plant building those. Saw a lot of them coming down the line. Rode around in a buddies who worked with me. They were kind of neat.
All the SVT badging and stuff had a problem with growing legs so it was quickly locked in parts cages and lots of it put on at the end of the line. They did the same with the Harley f-150 and even built an entire new building for the Lincoln Blackwood roll out that housed all the special stuff.

Was the gas door on it?
Every Contour I’ve ever seen, including the one I owned, had a broken gas door. Haha.

A friends dad had a 5 speed SVT when we were in high school that he would occasionally let my buddy drive. Talk about a sleeper. You could chirp the tires on a hard 2-3 shift. Surprisingly quick car.

I’d honestly be more impressed if it was a base Contour. I think the only ones that were saved were the SVT’s.
