My first brand new car was a 2015 Tacoma. 4×4, 5 speed manual, extended cab, convenience package delete (meaning no rear seats, no intermittent wipers, no cruise control, no key fob, no power mirrors).
Ended up selling it in 2020 because I just didn’t like driving it and had a company car by then and gotten my old Yukon back that was wayyyy more comfortable and better at towing. The ergonomics were just awful in that truck

Just this year i bought a brand new 2024 ford maverick this may. Spec’d it out myself. Big jump up from my ’99 yukon and a big way of breaking my personal high of 3k for a vehicle lol.

I split a car lease with my parents in 2002. It was a Saab 9-5.
Thank fuck we leased it.
It was an unreliable piece of shit. It ate two transmissions in the first couple of months, followed by a/c compressors, struts, and turbos.

09 Saturn Outlook. Ran fine all the way up to 130k miles, then it started falling apart. We kept it until 180k. 3 water pumps….different methods of failure each time. It was in an accident and we sold it for scrap at a local junker. (tire blowout, wife lost control, and hit the frame on the median.) I’ll say though, the safety features were quite good, and it was a good car for the first decade we had it. It’s just that maintenance was such a pain in the ass, and parts were expensive.

I bought a 21 Mustang because it was that place where used car prices were so jacked up and new cars had great deals because nobody bought them. Only time in my life I thought that buying new was a better financial decision than buying used.

1995 Saturn SL1 in BlueBlack custom ordered with manual locks and windows, AC, cruise control and a powered sunroof, there was a personalized note in the glove box from a line worker. Built in August of 1994 one of the 1st 1995s off the line. The Saturn buying experience was truly different. I totaled it in 1997 and bought a SC1 to replace it, again custom ordered, same options.
