Doesn’t matter, I still want an Olds Silhouette
Number 9- the dummy looks like they’re saying “ told you this shit was unsafe …but nope, you didn’t listen”.
The Saab is the only surprise, here.
The Cherokee got that bad of a rating? Wow
The Astro and ’97 gen era of F-150s are forever ingrained into my memory back when I discovered the IIHS website back in the late 1990’s in middle school. The videos took forever to load but I must have watched every one of them over a dozen times each.
That Quest aftermath photo…. Yikes. And that was the newest vehicle shown as well.
I honestly am not surprised by the Cherokee. It’s a holdover from the 80s and by the time it got tested, there was no way for it to meet the updated 1997 crash standards without excessive redesigning of the structure. I suspect Chrysler knew that it would be mediocre at best, but it was either sink too much money into it, or take it off the market, and considering it was probably a huge seller for Jeep, they decided “just run with it.”
Although that Blazer kind of scares me. Especially considering I grew up in that generation for 8 years and was the first car I was ever in…
Glad I never crashed my Villager 😲
Old IIHS for the win 🤷♂️
GM’s minivan offering was retested in 2005 (iirc) and was just as bad if not worse that the 90s it allegedly replaced.
It was so bad they put it on display.
I saw a head-on between a 90’s Kia Sephia and a 2010-ish Volvo sedan. Volvo driver walked away, Kia driver…if he survived I’d be absolutely surprised if he ever walked again.
