  1. I’m so excited for this nugget, I’ve wanted one since it was announced, I’m glad the driving review embargo has lifted.

Nothing like an in-depth car review by Thomas with a hint of zhe German accent. Love this car!

  3. They really hit the styling of this out of the park.

Not as iconic as the mini, but perfect execution of retro style means it’ll pull some sales, as well as probably putting pretty much any other small EV on notice.

Capacitive button implementation on the steering wheel is interesting – capacitive but with a movable panel to give the impression of feedback. Nice cheap way to replicate feel, but probably still not as good as actual buttons. That, the hard plastic and integrated plastic rear door handles are some of the obvious cost cutting areas, but at least they haven’t removed the indicator stalks, so it’s not *too* cheap inside. Moulded pattern in the headlining is really cool too.

Shame about rear leg room, but really the biggest issue is the height of the floor/how low the seat base is. It’s common to EVs, but seems worse here, probably to keep the roofline low. But it’s also a compromise you kind of need to make in this class. Rear seats not folding flat is also unfortunate, but again a symptom of being EV and presumably trying to lower the boot floor as much as possible. Would have been nice to have a variable boot floor, but cost cutting prohibits it I guess.

Volume scroll wheel on a stalk where it’s accesible but visually hidden is something I wish more manufacturers implemented. Keeps the wheel cleaner whilst still being easily accessible.

Capacitive interior lights are nice, IMO a good example of where the tech works well.

Little polygonal Coq (I think?) on the bottom left of the windscreen is a nice easter egg too.

Like I’m gonna believe the excitement of a YouTuber.
