Cars

Rest in peace to the man behind Jaags.

Once the man behind Land Rover, Jaguar and Tata Motors. This legend deserves the recognition.

Story goes that when Tata motors – an Indian car manufacturer – made its first vehicle, it failed. Forcing Ratan and his team to approach Ford to sell their motoring division. Tata said to have been humiliated in Detroit by the Ford executives, when they claimed Tata should have never started a car company when he knew nothing about cars. Dismayed, Tata returned to India and focused on creating its second vehicle with immense success. 10 years later, during the Great Recession of 2008, Ratan Tata bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford for a cash deal of $2.3 billion dollars. A monumental deal for Ford at the time, aiding in the company’s survival.

Ratan Tata has been a an inspiration to a billion people, and led a symbolic triumph for Indians around the world over these objects of British Colonialism.

He was one of the most successful business people in the world and along with his car brand owned over 30 companies, including Starbucks in India.

So for one last time – Thank you and rest in peace my good sir
