Not bad for 2K , kind of a steal. Just make sure it doesn’t have any major rust areas and runs decently but it looks pretty rust free to me. If you have the cash and can afford probably an extra few thousand in repairs down the line I’d say go ahead. Life isn’t worth living if you don’t do fun stuff

I will do no such thing. I think you should.

If its a 2.2, its a very easy engine to work on. The 2.2 is rock solid. I have had many, and,as far as reliability is concerned, I’ve never had an issue with any of them. If its an auto, the K413 transmission is also perfectly reliable.
Your only issue may be rust and parts availability.
The K cars from the early eighties were extremely simple vehicles, and you can do almost anything you want to ’em with a little time and some jackstands.
The 2.2 is also highly modifiable. Cam swaps are a no brainer. You can add twin sidedraft carbs to it or fuel injection very easily.
You can also swap teansmissions for a 5-speed without too much trouble l.
If I found K based lebaron for 2 grand in that condition, it would be a no-brainer for me.

looks like that front tire was flat based on the ‘water stain” on the sidewall, how long was this baby sitting? I wouldn’t spend my money on a 42yr old Chrysler… but i do think you should spend your on it and keep it on the road and going, Love to see malaise era cars still rolling.

My grandma went to trade one of those in at a dealer. While driving it to prove that it works, after they rounded the corner the brakes went out, so they were stuck with it.

I have a white 86 and while I haven’t had time to drive it lately, I love it. Needs some body work, but not going to do that until I build my garage next year to put it in once its done.

you will have to push it up hills.
will not go over 60mph and will take 30 seconds to get there from a stop
you may get rear ended trying to get on the freeway after going down a steep onramp
if you drive over a piece of bubble gum in the road you might get stuck
