If its something to cruise on the weekends maybe but definitely not a daily driver. Chryslers were never known for their reliability

  2. ClockAndBells

Our family experience with a LeBaron: it was fine while it lasted.

  3. domesystem

I don’t see a T1 badge on the side and it’s probably got the Mitsubishi 2.6 in it?

  4. oww_my_liver

If it isn’t rusty grab it then start working on your pornstache

  5. HoveringPorridge

It is a LeBaron. That’s warning enough.

  6. ScottaHemi

    it’s a 42 year old chrysler. that’s why

Not bad for 2K , kind of a steal. Just make sure it doesn’t have any major rust areas and runs decently but it looks pretty rust free to me. If you have the cash and can afford probably an extra few thousand in repairs down the line I’d say go ahead. Life isn’t worth living if you don’t do fun stuff

I will do no such thing. I think you should.

If its a 2.2, its a very easy engine to work on. The 2.2 is rock solid. I have had many, and,as far as reliability is concerned, I’ve never had an issue with any of them. If its an auto, the K413 transmission is also perfectly reliable.

Your only issue may be rust and parts availability.

The K cars from the early eighties were extremely simple vehicles, and you can do almost anything you want to ’em with a little time and some jackstands.

The 2.2 is also highly modifiable. Cam swaps are a no brainer. You can add twin sidedraft carbs to it or fuel injection very easily.

You can also swap teansmissions for a 5-speed without too much trouble l.

If I found K based lebaron for 2 grand in that condition, it would be a no-brainer for me.

Are you changing your name from Kitty to Karen?

Because you should hold out for the “Town & County” version with fake wood on the outside.

  12. efyeahhh

Do it, and wear your short skirt and long jacket.

  13. TheKiltedYaksman71

They are rather miserable to drive, but I ain’t here to yuck your yum. If you like it go for it.

I know it’s not the same generation, but reading this made me immediately think about Freddy Got Fingered.

  15. looks like that front tire was flat based on the ‘water stain” on the sidewall, how long was this baby sitting? I wouldn’t spend my money on a 42yr old Chrysler… but i do think you should spend your on it and keep it on the road and going, Love to see malaise era cars still rolling.

My grandma went to trade one of those in at a dealer. While driving it to prove that it works, after they rounded the corner the brakes went out, so they were stuck with it.

  17. Biscuits4u2

Because I’m on my way right now to pick it up

  18. Throwawaymister2

    Because Voight isn’t spelled with a y

  19. cepagidrot9999999

I only see one LeBaron Freddy. I don’t see two LeBarons.

  20. AcrobaticHippo1280

Everybody’s talking at me, but I can’t hear a word they’re saying, just driving around in Jon Voight’s car…

  21. knightcrusader

    DO IT.

I have a white 86 and while I haven’t had time to drive it lately, I love it. Needs some body work, but not going to do that until I build my garage next year to put it in once its done.

  22. absurd_nerd_repair

Leave enough pu**y for the rest of us…

  23. billmr606

you will have to push it up hills.

will not go over 60mph and will take 30 seconds to get there from a stop

you may get rear ended trying to get on the freeway after going down a steep onramp

if you drive over a piece of bubble gum in the road you might get stuck

Trump named his kid after this car

  24. Dad_of_the_suburbs

It’s a Chrysler LeBaron. That’s reason enough not to buy it.

  25. TryMyBacon

Does that come with the wheels or is it a bring your own wheels special

  26. TimothyZentz

I’m 31 and the older I get the more I like cars like these lol

  27. gauriemma

I used to have almost that exact car (it may have been an ‘84) in dark blue with a cream top in the mid-‘80s.

  28. Maynard_002000

If I had a million dollars I’d buy you a K Car, a nice reliant automobile

  29. Hour_Perspective_884

Can you think of a single reason you should?
