Hey guys I bought these megan racing coilovers for my cadillac ats and took them to a shop today to have them installed. The shop says everything fits except this one part where you can see at the bottom the bolt hole is like off center. It’s like it needs to be out to the right ever so slightly more to line up with the bottom hole. They couldn’t get the bolt through like this no matter how hard they tried they said.
They said it’s most likely a manufacturer defect and I should reach out to the manufacturer to try and get a replacement. They also said someone could probably be grind it down to make the bolt fit, but they wouldn’t do that for liability reasons.
What do you guys think? I bought the coilovers from a third party; in order to get a replacement I’d have to send it back to the third party, so they can start a warranty claim—would probably be a lengthy process. what would you do

Surely they could just loosen the bolts at the top of the strut tower and just wiggle it? Its not that far off.
seems like a fairly simple fix unless im missing something lol, loosen top hat bolts a little, maybe loosen lower control arm to knuckle a little bit. idk how they are having so much trouble that knuckle should move decently freely lol, again i could very well be stupid as hell and missing something.
Bottom bolt first then top. Bottom bolt hole is not oblong like top hole is.
That’s entirely normal because you’re trying to line up 2 things that move lol, unless they’re for the wrong car (which I doubt, I can’t recall a single set where the lower mount has holes that much closer to the damper to the extent of not fitting), whoever tried putting them on doesn’t know what they’re doing.
Basically you need to fuck about with the knuckle to get it to line up properly (as in lower/raise it, swaybar can and often will fight you), you legit just move it around (as in the knuckle and the coilover) till one bolt lines up, put it through, then with that keeping the 2 together, move them around again until you line the 2nd bolt hole up (which might be tight to the point of needing to tap it in with a dead blow hammer).
At this exact point all that would’ve needed to be done is raise the LCA, straighten both the knuckle and coilover (as in pointed outward) and pull the coilover+knuckle outward, which would make the lower bolt line up.
I had to grind some metal off the knuckle to get my coilovers to fit.
Try putting the bolt through the bottom first, if it doesn’t go through then the hole on the coil over has excess material not letting the bolt go through. You’re gonna have to shave off some of the metal to allow the bolt to go through
