My wife had a caliber for a bit. They’re slow, don’t get great mileage, aren’t very big inside (including a tiny hatch), but are chunky outside. Other than that, they’re great. Oh, and it seems like they rot out from underneath you if you keep them long enough. Hers was a stick at least but it was still ass. And the next car she got? A mid 2010s automatic focus. Blugh.

Lots of contenders from GM and Chrysler from 2004 to 2010. I dunno if I can pick just one.
Dodge Caliber/Nitro, Jeep Commander/Compass/Liberty, Chrysler Aspen, Chevy Aveo/Malibu/Impala, all the Chevy Trailblazer clones, Pontiac G3/Bonneville, Cadillac Escalade EXT, Hummer H2
The list just keeps going

Easily Dodge Caliber/Dodge Nitro/Jeep Liberty
Hate them all, would rather see PT Cruisers every day

The 200 had redeeming features. The Seabrings only plus was that it could be a convertible for cheaper than virtually any other option

My sister brought a brand new Caliber in 2011. Somehow, beyond all odds, she took it to 250k miles and never did any major maintenance on it. Later, she was shocked to learn that she bought what might have been the only good one ever produced.

Had one of these growing up 2010 us spec, wasn’t ever that bad, detachable flashlight that came our of the rear dome light was so damn handy, never knew about the light up cup holder trim bc of the coins covering it at all times

The Caliber has to be the worst cousin of the Evo X ever lol, anyway imo it’s the Ford Ecosport. Shit looks straight out of a 3rd world country.

I never see any of those Chevy/Daewoos from the mid 2000s anymore. Mind you I’m in rust country, but the Aveo, Epica and HHR just don’t seem to exist here. I almost bought an Epica as my first car. A friend of mine had one and he absolutely hated it. The HHR was hilariously ugly. It’s like they tried to one up the PT Cruiser in terms of design that no one could possibly like. A former coworker bought one new and he seemed to like it, but man. That was an ugly fuckin thing.

Volvo S40. The sunroof drains easily plug, which floods the foam underneath the carpet. The auto transmissions also frequently fail, and the cost of the repair exceeds the value of the car.

There have been so many absolute shitters since 2004 that I gotta break it down by brand, gonna leave out big luxury and focus on mass market
Ford- third generation Focus with DCT or EcoSport
GM – Second generation Equinox or first gen Traverse. Yikes.
Chrysler – Dodge Nitro/Jeep Liberty
Mazda – CX7
Hyundai/Kia – Kia Amanti/Hyundai XG350
Toyota – none have been AWFUL but the first generation Venza wasn’t quite “it”. Scion xA was also heinous
Honda – first gen Pilot. Again not horrible but just not “it”. Maybe the second gen Insight.
Nissan – first gen Versa
Mitsubishi – Eclipse Cross. Jesus christ
VW/Audi – Mk5 Jetta I will die on this hill
BMW – X6 because what the fuck is that it’s like a Crosstour with a BBL
Volvo – probably the first gen XC90 for the transmission issues it had but otherwise I can’t find many things to criticize
