Get this thing on german roads. Semi is going to destroy legacy truck makers. They are shitting their pants knowing tesla is coming for their buisness.

I do not see it being that great in the US yet, but for sure in small countries.

The article is basing charging on a very low kwh which is all but gone in my places.

But smarty Bill said semi will never work ?!?!
Im also waiting for armchair experts in this sub to say semi will fail in Europe

  4. DHL who have Teslas parts distribution contract think’s the Tesla semi is great.. it might be true, but there’s also a conflict of interest.

Was initially surprised by the efficiency, then I reread it. It’s .58 mi/kWh. In the grand scheme it makes perfect sense. Now how does the fast charging work out and can it be used on smaller vehicles.

We really need a Megawatt Charging System network build- out!

    Let’s go!

So if the 1.72 kWh/mile average is correct, then that will equate to a average MPGe of 19.6 (or 12 l/100km for us metric folks). In that case, the Tesla Semi has the same efficiency as a Cadillac Escalade SUV. This is eye-opening in my view!
