Personally, I like a column shift because I found it easier to switch gears (ie:reverse & drive) smoothly & quickly

Column shifter without a doubt. Feels good, doesn’t clutter the cabin and I find it easier to be more precise.
I’ve also heard that arthritic old folks prefer them because you can pretty much use an open hand and there’s less fine motor skill involved.

Console shifters 9/10 times. I think the vast majority of cars with column shifters do not look right on the inside. Plus, I have a burning hatred of bench seats which often times go along with column shifters.
