What is a mild hybrid car + how does it work? Retro Garage on car jargon|1.5 TSI MHEV Skoda Octavia
Despite my main interest being older cars, especially those of the 80s and 90s, I can’t help but be intrigued at times by terms and tech used in new cars such as “what is a mild hybrid 48v system” and “how does a mild hybrid car work?”
Mild Hybrid is one of those terms that comes up a lot these days, especially with cars from the Volkswagen Audi Group so I took the opportunity to use this Škoda Octavia Sportline which had a 1.5 litre TSI and Mild Hybrid system which was able to do 5.5l/100km in the first 1200 of me driving it.
