“The ICE market globally is still that big that we can’t put an end date to ICE development today,” he said. “Of course, sooner or later, there will be an end date, determined by customer demand. As long as we see customers demanding ICE vehicles, we will have an offer. Sooner or later, there will be an end date, but I think it’s too early to say when that is going to be, especially from a global perspective.”
As much as I’m a proponent for the transition (and for 2035 goals etc.), it’s hard to not agree with this, especially “from a global perspective” that includes countries in Africa and elsewhere. Still a lot of incentives and build out of charging infrastructure needed to get there. I’m hoping sooner rather than later, but it will take some time before we can see the final global endgame here.

No. EV’s make economical sense in certain areas. Let the market drive this . EV was the right choice for us and thus we bought one. Now get me a conversion kit for my Sienna mini van and I’ll be grinning ear to ear.

At the same time saying they are closing “state of the art” Audi EV factory….hmmm.

Honestly just keep selling your current ICE cars and put investment into hybrid and battery. Developing a new ICE engine now would make me question leadership…
