As of this week, Ford brings lucky drivers along for a ride to try out the ‘hands-off, eyes-on’ BlueCruise driver assistance technology, the first of its kind to be approved in Europe.
The system assesses road markings, speed signs, and evolving traffic conditions to control the vehicle, while sophisticated interior camera technology monitors driver attentiveness. The technology, available to drivers of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E, has enabled 102 million km of hands-free driving in the US and Canada, and now comes to 3,700 km of motorways in England, Scotland, and Wales.
