PHEV driving is an art!
Thank you so much for tuning in Mr mitubishi here today today in this video we’ll talk about this I think and leave a comment if you agree or you don’t agree driving a pH or an electric car is a form of art you do become a different
Driver a different person you focus on different things your main goal is just to squeeze all that Eevee range as much as possible on your PV or any electric car like this BMW I4 we have as an example of as well the second you drive electric or phv you do become a
Different driver you know exactly where all the free Chargers are where all the PID Chargers are you just go after it and in this video we’ll have a look at a few things what matters when you are becoming this uh EV or phv artist uh when it comes to 2024 Outlander so let’s
Check out a couple things that matter when it comes to a maximum EV range and let’s check out now this 2024 pH the rated EV range is 61 km here in Canada on full EV Drive um I’ve gotten a lot more I think my best result was 93 km in
The summertime when I did the maximum EV range test uh it was climate control off it was just be my Me by myself in the car nobody else and that matters a lot so let’s talk about few things that will matter when you’re driving a pH outline
Now one a big one of course is the climate so if it’s super cold outside super hot and your AC’s going that will decrease your EV range so the climate is going to affect the vehicle but there’s not much you can do about it you can’t
Control it it just is what it is the second thing uh that will control uh you know your EV range is how many people you have in a car this one here is a seven seater so technically you can have seven people sitting in a car
And of course if you have just a driver or the vehicle is full you’ll get different range so you know just keep that in mind sometimes people say hey how come how come I’m not getting you know my range anymore but turns out last few trips or there only four people or
Five people in a car um you know compared to one person that will affect your range as well also when it comes to maximum EV range what’s important what other climate settings are you using and this is a big one especially now that we are in a winter
Season we can see the heated seats are on here we have um heated steering wheel right here we can have the fan going full speed or not so full speed you know we can have the front defrost going and the temperature as well right so we can have all these things that are
Uh contributing to your eveve range and this is where it becomes an art form almost you got to figure figured out what works for you you compare each charge each distance each drive just to find out like what settings for you personally work the best and you can
Achieve the best results that you can with your uh range also this one right here the Innovative pedal so we have this uh button right here that will uh act like a brake and gas all in one pedal and uh some people get very very efficient with this and this also helps
To extend the uh the EV range and of course let’s not forget about uh this um uh terrain selector so you’ll get a different uh range if you get on Echo versus normal versus your Boost uh you know boost is not combinable with full EV range but you know Echo normal U and
Uh all those other uh tarmac we can see it right here as we scroll it right so mud snow gravel tarmac Mac normal Echo so these things are going to give you different results because your uh your battery and your your drive uh habits uh is going to be a little bit different
The vehicle goes a little bit different uh and it’ll just perform different it’ll consume the energy different so that will have an effect as well and of course when you want to track all these things you have these uh Drive computers that you can reset and then you can
Track so and that’s the best way how to go about it so every time when you’re like full full full uh charged you just reset it you do your daily errands and you see okay like you know I squeeze this amount of kilometers on this then
You use maybe a little bit more climate or heated seats you see how it decreases and uh you know that just sort of helps you to understand your vehicle better so all these things matter the climate control outside what do you do inside with your climate settings do you use
Heated seats heated steering wheel how fast the fan goes do you you defrost or not uh what’s the temperature inside what kind of Drive selector you have do you do the one pedal drive or not all these things matter and this is where it becomes very very interesting to drive this uh particular
PH uh you do become a sort of artist and leave a comment if you agree or not for me personally I can say with certainty the second I started to drive electrics and plugin hybrids I did become a little bit different person in that regard I start to squeeze more kilometers out of
Uh my range I pay attention to you know your energy consumption and stuff like that and that happens on phvs as well as fully electric with fully electric is a little bit different it’s just 100% battery like this BMW I4 we have you have just the battery and that’s it and
Then you can decide sort of like you know hey like I got this amount of kilometers or that amount of kilometers but with B you also have have the gas in it so it just becomes a little bit more trickier because now you not only have the battery you also have the gas
Consumption and you got to combine all these things together so thank you so much for checking out this video leave a comment on your thoughts on uh eeve and phv drive being an art form and thank you so much for checking out this video see you next time around
Would you agree that driving a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (or any other PHEV / EV) is an art form?
