Citroen made some fascinating cars over the years. Personally I found the DS a little goofy looking but the SM is gorgeous.

They wanted to make a V8 but during the design of the engine they switched to V6 and ditched 2 cylinders. The kept the V8 geometry so now it‘s not the smoothest V6.

Main problem was the botched launch without having the shop manuals ready.
When the first SMs came for inspection, mechanics didn’t know what to do. Typical French. The rare 90° engine and timing belt issues were a few to name.
For car that cost 11. 400 USD at its launch, many owners lost their patience rather quickly.
