I grew up with a dad who restored a 64 impala so I am not very fond of people butchering these cars. On the other hand, I think it’s cool AF that guys like Snoop Dogg like the old impalas.

I’m not sure I really understand the culture behind them (mid class white guy from the PNW, who’s primary interest is euro sports cars and motorsports), and haven’t done a lot to actively understand that culture. However, I have to say that the ones that are done well are true works of art with some truly impressive craftsmanship on display, on a level no other segment of automotive culture touches. And for that, they have my utmost respect. Truthfully it’s a scene I would like to understand more, but it’s not one I exactly see myself participating in.

I love them! First one i saw in person was late 70’s monte carlo a guy was scrapping, genuinely surprised he didn’t take the rear bumper off since he was going speed limit*

Lowriders are fine. the style that I can’t stand are Donks, or any vehicle that’s has huge ass 22-in plus rims and little itty bitty rubber band tires. I would never hate on somebody’s ride, but it’s just not my thing

They aren’t comfortable, fast, or fun to drive. For me, a car needs to be good at at least one of those. May as well be a stanced out civic. Ruins a classic too, so its a no for me all around.

Love them. Personally, I’m deep into Pro Street, but I can appreciate the effort, attention to detail, and craftsmanship that goes into the build of a lowrider.
I’ve never met an unfriendly person at a lowrider meet up.

Its one of those cultures that doesnt mess with anyone and viseversa, everebody respects the craftsmanship and honestly a 64 black impala on 13×7 wheels its more frightening than a 10second Hellcat
