This woulda been an improvement on my high school car, a 1991 Dodge Daytona POS with a 140 HP 3.0 V6.

Man Chrysler Corp was doing some crazy shit in the late 80’s early 90’s. I remember they even sold a rear wheel drive conversion kit for some of their FWD cars from MOPAR Performance.

And I thought the mix of British and French engineering with (Northern) Irish assembly on the Delorean sounded like a train wreck.

Italian tractor company engine during its era of unreliability with a British bucket of gears to steer it and ‘80s Detroit project management…woof.

  4. Would have been a beast, if they had a better platform to stick it in.

The K-Cars weren’t designed to be sporty and handle well. And, they even had to use the engine bay from the A-Cars to fit the tall Lambo power plant in the Daytona.

Now, if they shoved this in like the Chrysler(Mitsubishi) Conquest instead, it might have faired better.

But, I guess that really wouldn’t be Chrysler/Lambo synergy at that point. It would be Mitsubishi/Lambo tech with the Pentastar slapped on it.

This is a top notch post. Absolutely weird and absolutely fascinating.
