I’ve already seen lower prices on cars.com, though…

$11,000 off a $75K truck at one model year old (about to be two) and 6-8K rental miles isn’t bad when you could lease a new one, get a discount, and save about $10K off MSRP for brand new (including the $7,500 tax credit baked into that savings).

Normal ICE vehicles depreciate harder than that

what an ugly ugly vehicle. I will never understand why a person would buy this

Why is Hertz selling them so soon? They are being short sighted. Buy the car, rent it out, and sell it when it hits the target age and/or mileage.

This is the same mistake they made with Tesla. They locked in their loss by selling early. And then they bought Silverados just to turn around and do this? They haven’t learned a thing.

If I’m on that board, the CEO is gone.

    $64K is a “cut-rate” price for a used EV?

I’m super pro-EV (both our cars are EV’s), but I’d never rent one, especially a CCS model. Trying to find charger infrastructure while on a trip is not worth the hassle and time investment. If hotels had robust charger infrastructure, maybe, but for now, no thanks.

Inquired about the top end truck for a lease and the first quote I got was 2k down for 1800 a month. Insane

It’s the work truck variant so it’s missing a lot of the bells and whistles like the ability to remove the wall behind the back seats for pass through.

I’ve noticed my local Chevy dealer has quite a few sitting on the lot. Wonder if this will be another flop?

Terrible deal. Even worse journalism. This has been sitting for a month plus here in FL because you can buy the same trim from a dealer with the $7500 rebate and discounts for less than what Hertz is asking. Hertz sells cheap EVs instantly and overpriced ones sit for months. Hertz needs to chop $8K off the price to be competitive.

I saw one the other day and my only thought was wow, I wish they had a Tesla instead. Who wants to rent that behemoth?

  12. Maybe Hertz should make it easier to rent a specific vehicle.

I could have bought one new for less. I passed on it. Good luck…
