This is a Proton Saga Premium S, yes I’ve said it before but i guess not a lot of people know about this car. It’s powered by a 1.3L engine producing around 93 HP and 120 NM of torque through a 4 speed automatic transmission, It’s a front wheel drive economy car produced and developed locally here in Malaysia.
Fun fact, the chassis has Lotus help in development because this chassis is from 2008 and at the time Proton owns Lotus so they asked for help and here’s the result. The handling of this car is superb despite being a FWD car with little horsepower to backup, but it makes up for engaing driving experience.

Protons sold in moderate numbers here in Australia – I remember the Persona/Satria/ Waja/Gen2/Preve/Savvy and Exora. They seemed reliable, but as time went on the safety features just didn’t keep up. It’s one of those things maybe where the expectations/standards in the home market didn’t translate. What sort of safety features does yours have?

We had the Proton Jumbuck Ute in Australia. Essentially a Lancer Ute. Some people did full Evo engine & drivetrain conversions.
