Originally based on the Renault 12 from the 1960s, the Dacia 1300 (later 1310 and 1410) was offered in many body styles and has underwent many non-structural redesigns in its production run from 1972 all the way to 2004 (2006 for the pickup truck models). This one is the second to last variation, internally called CN3, built from 1995 until 1999.
The 1300 and 1310 were Romania’s offerings for a people’s car in the Eastern Bloc and the 1310 was the most common car on Romanian roads up until the late 2000s.
Very few remain out on the streets today, most of them were taken away by our scrappage scheme, rust problems and the car’s overall outdatedness.
My car is equipped with a 1.4 liter carbureted engine pushing out a whopping 62 horsepower mated to a very retro feeling 5 speed manual gearbox.
