this is getting ridiculous, Europe will drown in german diesels hoping for affordable EVs to arrive… and yes, I don’t mean the crappy plastic compacts they are planning, that will most likely cost closer to €30k thanks to the ~20% VAT they have zero intention to lift…

> The fully electric version of the EZ-6 is powered by a 190 kW electric motor mounted on the rear axle. Buyers can choose between a 56.1 kWh or 68.8 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a range of 480 km and 600 km, respectively. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
That’s pathetic.
> Providing range extension in the EREV is a 1.5 litre JL473QJ engine with maximum power of 70 kW. Power to the actual wheels, though, comes from a 160 kW electric motor. Depending on the battery pack range is either 130 km or 200 km and the comprehensive range is 1,301 km. The EREV can charge from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes.
For the EREV. Mazda is just making the bare minimum effort to stay alive in the Chinese market.

I read somewhere it’s not a China exclusive, it will eventually be exported outside of China.
That being said, that price Tag is probably going to be closer to 40000€ in Europe.

I love the blend between normal car and ev design. You definitely notice the quirks and features of EVs, but it still looks much more like a normal car than e. g. a Tesla. I really like it.

Thought it was a cadillac.

>Mazda EZ-6 is a new electric sedan
YES IT LOOKS SICK

God fucking damn it

I sat in the new CX-90 recently and was blown away by the interior quality. The top trim feels FAR more premium than Lexus while costing less than any *base* model Lexus (or any Euro luxury brand for that matter) of the same size.
All Mazda needs to do is put that interior design into a smaller vehicle with a competent electric powertrain, and I’m sold.

It’s already confirmed to be [exported to Europe](https://www.electrive.net/2024/08/14/mazda-ez-6-kommt-im-herbst-nach-europa/).
