I recall a local Toyota dealer and touring car racer had a red one in Sydney, back in the day. There are the two white ones chopped for *You Only Live Twice*.
I think red is the hero colour.
I can’t recall ever seeing one in ***this*** colour!
Apparently only 62 were made in LHD. Unsurprisingly, many original owners seem to be racers who owned Toyota dealerships.
Another Sydney car dealer bought a silver 1967 (pic 10) for full restoration, shown in this story: https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1130118_1967-toyota-2000gt-sells-for-912-500-while-another-is-discovered-in-a-sydney-garage
That story noted the restored LHD American one in red sold for $912K (pic 11). Striking silhouette pic.
A Japan asking price for the Atlantic Green of ¥125M sounds reasonable.
It’s not mentioned if the paint is original.

I found this [here on IG](https://www.instagram.com/p/C_RYBiHtmBf/).
More info on the desirable 1967 silver MF10 [here](https://www.whichcar.com.au/car-news/toyota-2000-gt-restoration). There are a few pics showing it was seemingly repainted from red and was in terrible shape underneath. Phil McCarroll is restoring it but the client is unknown.
Why would they ever stop making these?
One of my top favorite cars of all time, such beauty.
I never noticed those turn signal lights in the rear side before. The parcel area looks sweet too!

Toyota has a red one in their museum in California. Your eyes just linger on that car.
[Looks magnificent on Fujisan](https://japanesenostalgiccar.com/grand-touring-mt-fuji-toyota-2000gt-japanese-icons/)!
Absolutely outstanding, a truly timeless design. Imagine the same company makes the RAV4 snoozefest.
