Cars

What kind of person under the age of 30 drives one of these?

This is my personal car, 2011 Lincoln Town Car Signature Limited (the first car I have ever purchased on my own) and I am under 30. Love it for the record.

Panthers are pretty popular now, old people bought em new but theyre a great way to get into a rwd v8 platform to modify.

You mind my asking what kind of price this went for? I’m thinking i need one. Nice car!

Me. I’m on my third panther and I’m 28 years old.

Me at 19 was driving one. Best car I’ve owned and I now swear by panther platform. It will last you forever with basic maintenance[https://i.imgur.com/MSQsW6k.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/MSQsW6k.jpeg)

One who smells of grape swishers.

Young people who drive these are always self aware of how goofy and out of place they look while driving them. But they are legit super good and comfy vehicles. Anyone who identifies as a “car person” has respect for younger people who drive these.

Wish I could find one that isn’t completely rotten. Gotta love the rust belt and its careless drivers

I’m an under 30 Lincoln driver and I love it for what it is and what it does for me. These cars are highly underrated, no matter how many comments I’ve had about it belonging at a senior home LOL. My grandma owns a Milan and she’d envy my MKZ if her and my grandpa still drove it. I’d love a Town Car like yours or a newer MKS if I ever had to change (hopefully not soon!)

The best things about these cars are the tech features, the Ford parts network, and the smooth as silk ride for what’s usually cheaper than anything similar from foreign brands. When you see another Lincoln driver you know they have it pretty good in there

I would bite another man’s dick off to get a Town Car in thst good of shape.

My first car was a 1980 Oldsmobile 98.

Cars like that are safe and you can have sex in the back seat. They’re big enough at you can have sex in the front seats, for that matter.

    MPG, on the other hand…

  11. Coworker had a Mercury, was like riding on a couch. Very nice package and went forever.

Grandparents got too old to drive, and a young person starting their life needs a good car gets it gifted to them.

  13. MainelyKahnt

Either a hand-me-down from the grandparents or, growing up these were synonymous with erm… (I’m not sure if there is a better term pls don’t hate) Gypsy cabs.

Someone who wears really long socks.

I strongly recommend “old man cars” to new drivers- Panther platform, or Buick LeSabre.

I was going to say me but then remembered I was born in 80s. My right knee and lower back reminded me.

  17. Wooden_Ad6947

    I’m 31 and I’ve had one for 5 years

Asshole Redneck teens (speaking from experience)

At 18 I had a Cadillac basically the same thing just less reliable. I got it because it was actually a nice car plenty of power and creature comforts and I thought it looked nice. Also being less popular than Acura, Lexus,Honda you could get these vehicles for a steal. For example back in the day a Used Town Car, Crown vic, Mercurcy,Deville, Seville might go for 5k where as a Honda,Acura,Toyota of similiar year and mileage would be around 10k and a lot smaller with less leather and options

Any way the ford’s are reliable work horses and when gas prices where lower the V8 wasn’t an issue.

As for The kind of person under 30 that would drive this ,I would say people that aren’t easily influenced by what everyone else is doing, people that think outside the box, someone who got gifted the car or someone knowledgeable about cars, people that don’t care about keeping up with having the newest most popular thing.

My daughter’s BF has had a Crown Victoria (former police cruiser) since he was 17. He’s done some pretty extensive mods to it. Lifted with big, aggressive tread tires, bully bar, intake and exhaust plus many others. He has kept the interior barebones stock; vinyl seats and flooring, carpet delete

I’m looking at buying a Grand Marquis or a Town Car and I’m turning 18 soon lol. I’m mainly interested because
-Reliability, and price of entry- cheaper than any other RWD V8 car out there pretty much
-V8 power and RWD for good-enough acceleration and highway passing, even if it’s “only” got 240 hp
-Luxury car, so good ride (i had back surgery last summer and my hand-me-down 4Runner is punishing me and my achey back lol)
-Fuel economy. No seriously. My 4Runner V8 gets 18-19 mpg highway if I’m being nice to it and 14-15 around town. Marquis were rated at like 24-25 highway IIRC.
-Durability- I’m a teenager. My brain won’t fully develop for another 7 years and I’m going to make some dumb decisions, whether I know it or not. Panther Bodies seem like they’re able to shrug off abuse, though i’ll try my best to baby the car lol.
They also don’t seem to rust too bad which is big for me, because my 4Runner has two holes in it’s frame that just needed to be patched and it likely won’t be on the road much longer, though I do love it 🙁

I did and I was 26. Great car. Super reliable. Easy to work on. Currently looking for another

Still looking for my first Panther chassis project.. Diesel powered Cummins 4BT Common Rail and a 6 speed Allison 1000 automatic

While I worked for Firs for 17 years from 89-06 and I never heard it referred to as a panther one of my favorite cars I had was an 81 LTD wagon.

It was the full size one with a 5.0 and I later dropped a Mustang GT motor into after I rebuilt it.

So much room for the dogs and stuff in the far back just a useful, comfortable and yet practical car. I miss it.

    I was 26.

  25. hooligan-6318

Anyone who wants cheap to maintain and reliable.

Panther platform automobiles were extremely popular among the police/taxi/limo crowd for a reason.

  26. thethirdbob2

These cars are way better than they get credit. Pull a trailer, haul a bunch of friends, cheap, better gas mileage than people think. Reliable. . .
It’s smart person under 30 that drives one.

  27. cowboysdominion

one of my students (12th grade) bought one last year and has been driving it to school every day since haha!

  28. ADMSXavier

Mafia enforcer in training or serial killer getting started. Huge covered trunk, blends right in, cheap enough to torch if things get messy.

Or someone starting out who got the car from family for free. But I like the Junior Mob hit man driver a lot better.

  29. guywholikesrum

Nice ride… these are by far the best way to get into a Panther. Usually they are not clapped out and parts are almost all interchangeable.

  30. SQWRLLY1

One that inherited their grandparent’s ride in the will.

  31. werdnax12

Some people want luxury ride for a good price!

  32. LFCSpectre
