Do anyone miss Plymouth?

I’m only 16 so I wasn’t alive during that era, but I know many people on this sub went to HS during the 80s or 90s so you guys probably have a lot of memories about Plymouth

I guess that the reason why Plymouth was discontinued by Chrysler is because it was quite of a useless brand. It was supposed to have the cheapest vehicles made by the Chrysler corporation but at the end of the day what was really happening is that Chrysler made high end luxury vehicles and Dodge made common daily use vehicles of all kinds (from sedans and minivans to trucks, SUVs and sports cars) so Dodge was the brand actually competing against Ford, Chevrolet and Toyota (instead of competing with Mercury, Lexus, Acura and Pontiac/Buick) and Plymouth was just a brand that people would look at you driving and think “this guy couldn’t even pay 500 more dollars to get a Dodge one, he’s so poor LMAO”

Anyways, I don’t know if my assumption is right but, do any of you miss Plymouth?

Plymouth to me was a brand that made entry level Mopar vehicles. I think of the minivans, the Neon, the Breeze, Reliant, Sundance, Acclaim, Colt, etc.

They have a rich history but I always think of these cars first before their muscle cars due to what I grew up seeing. Same with Dodge and Chrysler.

Missing Plymouth would be redundant. They still exist but with Dodge and Chrysler, their new Voyager minivan was literally a Plymouth nameplate, it exists in spirit.

There were some interesting vehicles like the Prowler and Laser, but usually they were decontented Dodges. I never understood why Chrysler needed three brands.

Yes, but the Fury, GTX, Roadrunner, Satellite, and anything they made with a 6-pack 340/440 or 426 Hemi or Cross Ram 413

Got a 49’ super deluxe, love it! Strait 6 and 3 on the tree

Nope. Had a ’92 Acclaim that was a gutless, uncomfortable POS. You know what’s worse than a Dodge? A Dodge with no cruise control where armrests were a luxury option. They may have once had a purpose, but loat the plot for the last 20-30 years. No love was lost when they disappeared.

I miss it. I also miss Saab, Scion, Pontiac, Saturn(which my parents drove in once when I was a kid), Oldsmobile, Hummer, Geo, and other defunct marques.

    No. I own one.

There’s no real market for them now unfortunately. Since luxury has become the norm and everyone wants something for nothing brands like Plymouth would flounder with the modern car buying public. Plus, would you really want to see a Duster CUV or a Fury SUV based off the Durango that only costs $1000 less than a base Durango? Because unfortunately that’s where we are

Well….I miss both my ‘67 Plymouth GTX and my ‘69 Plymouth Roadrunner.😊

When I was 16 I had a chance at getting a 1968 Plymouth Belvedere from a person I knew, only needed new windshield wipers and brakes. Wish I had gotten it

I had a 1971 Plymouth Valiant. I miss that car, but Plymouth went downhill in the 80s and never recovered.

Kinda, but they were too similar to Chrysler

Eh, my dad liked the Barracuda and the Road Runner. But otherwise, he hated the ‘79 Trailduster that barely ran when it was new. His friends parents new Volaré wagon that rusted within months (not the mention the engine dying).

I still RCR’s episode of The Plymouth Belvedere .

No but I don’t like any new vehicles so there aren’t any defunct brands that I miss.

Had a 1999 Grand Voyager SE growing up. 3.3L v6. Thing had like 300k on it when it finally gave up the ghost 😂

I see old wood-paneled Plymouth Voyager minivans just about every day, they must have been doing something right!
