I’m biased but the GM C/K’s with the 350 are an all-time great truck. A Z71 like in this picture is on my wish list.

Best Chevy, Ford in the middle, worst Dodge. But all 3 of those are night and day better than anything made in the last 20 years. And ford wins over Chevy if you are including diesel f350s

Dodge was absolutely horrible during this period. Transmissions were trash and they rusted driving off the lot.

In order of appearance: good, electrical fire, good.
I’m joking but Chrysler is known for wiring issues so be prepared to chase some electrical gremlins if the one you get isn’t near mint.

Gmt400 all day long!! You see way more of them out still doing work or being DD’s or in some cases a weekend vehicle as my tends to be. Gm ,ford,dodge and you should already know not to go towards the dodge as it’s tells you so with its name! lol but gm hands down as there’s way more still out on the roads today than the other 2!

I miss my 96 F150. Single cab, long bed, 2wd, 5-speed manual, 400 I6, green with brown interior. The perfect vehicle in my opinion.
Had nearly 350k miles before I let her go because of the rust.

GMT400 is the top, Areo Nose OBS Ford has some longevity issues, the only thing Dodge had going for it was the Cummins

The first gen Ram (technically 90/91) and the obs are fist fighting for first. Imo, you can’t beat the looks of a first gen, but the obs gasser is definitely more reliable (especially with the inline six). The k bodies are second, and the second gen gets a dnf.

I’ve driven 3 GMT400s, I’d get a 1988-’94 K3500 diesel. I hate the ’95-’98 interiors. Never driven a ’90s Ram or F150, but I have driven an 8th Gen F150 and I liked it. I’d probably choose a 9th Gen F150 over the others because the 2nd Gen Ram has rust issues if you don’t look after it and GMT400s just look boring.
The worst ’90s full size American truck is probably the 10th Gen F150.

Overall I’d go ford, then Chevy, then dodge. There were variations in this order when looking at it by each size class/engine options for apples to apples comparisons.
I’d take any of the 3 over anything made today though, this was a good period in US trucks.

Ive owned a 96 F150 with the 4.9 I6, which runs forever. Owned a 2001 Dodge Ram with the 5.2 Magnum, also practically ran forever. Contrary to popular belief, the transmissions will last but you have to adjust the bands on them

Ford built the best imo, followed by Chevy in a close second. Dodge easily had the worst, their only redeeming factor was the bulletproof Cummins engines
